‘How the Penguins Saved
Christmas!’
Just as a pack of penguins
are properly preparing for the pomp of a perfectly polite pageant, a stranger
drops from the sky into their midst, knocking himself quite unconscious.
Eventually reasoning that
this stranger must be Santa Claus, the penguins find that once conscious again,
the visitor has no memory whatsoever - and on Christmas Eve!
With the help of the Wise
Old Emperor penguin and Santa’s reindeer, the penguins will have to save
Christmas!
Thursday, December 10th, 1:00p.m.
&
Thursday, December 10th, 6:00p.m.
Important Info:
Costumes: All students may wear an appropriate outfit of their
choice, all other pieces for their costume will be provided.
Performance: Students need to be at their classroom at 5:40 p.m.
(not earlier please, as staff will be on dinner break.) Please pick up your
child from their classroom right after their concert is over.

More information will be sent home closer to these events.
Recorder Karate Recorder Karate is a recorder program for students who would like an extra challenge! Interested students in Grades 4 & 5 will be given a package of music to practice. They can then play the songs for me and earn different karate belts as they master each song in the package. Recorder Karate testing will continue to take place every Day 5 during Morning Recess. Please see me if you are interested in this program.

We will store them in the music room during the school year. If you have misplaced your recorder over the summer and require a new one, they are available for purchase through the office.

September in the Heritage Music Room!
Greetings from the Music Room! Hello, and welcome back to all staff and students! I am looking forward to another exciting year of music making here at Heritage School.
Grade 4/5 Intermediate Choir. We are trying something new this year at Heritage School. For the first time, Grade 4 and 5 students will have a designated choir class every Day 6 during Period 4. Choir is a great way to express yourself, learn lots of fantastic songs, develop your voice and make new friends. As a choir, we will have many opportunities to perform throughout the year including Remembrance Day, Winter Concert, Winnipeg Music Festival and Music Celebration.
Grade 1/2/3 Primary Choir. I will also be offering choir once a cycle during the lunch hour for Grades 1, 2, and 3 students who are interested in singing. We will begin rehearsing in January after the Winter Break. Please let Mrs. Neufeld know if you are interested in joining Primary Choir.
A reminder about recorders…I would like to ask all Grade 3, 4, and 5 students to please bring in your recorders from last year. We will store them in the music room during the school year. If you have misplaced your recorder over the summer and require a new one, they will be available for purchase through the school. They cost is $10.00. As a result of poor tuning and tone quality, please do not purchase a recorder for classroom use from the Dollar Store.
I look forward to a fabulous year of making music together! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Musically yours,
Mrs. H. Neufeld
